Ensure access to water and sanitation for all

Local partners of Amity's Living Water Project are filling tanks with clean water during a WASH project in a water deprived region of the Sahel Zone in Ethiopia

Access to safe water, sanitation and water management are essential to human health, environmental sustainability and prosperity. Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in. But due to poor infrastructure and distribution, every year millions of people, most of them children, die from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene. Water scarcity, poor water quality and inadequate sanitation negatively impact food security, livelihood choices and educational opportunities for poor families across the world. Drought afflicts some of the world’s poorest countries, worsening hunger and malnutrition. Already 40% of people around the world are affected by chronic or recurring shortages of fresh water. These numbers are projected to rise as a result of global warming. The Amity Foundation is raising awareness for the global water crisis and providing relief and support for water deprived communities.
