From 26 August to 6 September 2018, the Amity Foundation and the Nanjing Union Theological Seminary organized the Summer Academy on Diakonia 2018. About 45 participants, mainly young pastors who are committed and dedicated to Diakonia ministry, attended the training.
A delegation of more than 40 of the church in Sabah, Malaysia, visited Amity Printing Company in Nanjing on September 7. The group, lead by Malaysian Bishop Yong Chen Fah, was informed about Amity's Bible Printing ministry.
On August 19, typhoon Rumbia made landfall in Shandong Province. Flooding affected more than 5 million people and caused devastation of a large amount of harvest. On August 24, the Amity Foundation started an emergency disaster relief project to support people suffering.
On August 21, the Hong Kong Disaster Relief Fund approved a grant of $5.824 million to Amity, Hong Kong. The grant will provide rice, flour, cooking oil and quilts to benefit 10,622 families which suffered in severe floods since July.
On July 29, the Amity Foundation and Transformation Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic partnership in Kathmandu. The signing ceremony took place during a forum and networking event, attended by 25 Chinese and 34 Nepalese representatives of social organizations.
