Amity and UNHCR sign Memorandum of Understanding

On March 8, 2019, the Amity Foundation and the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Beijing to promote future cooperation in humanitarian relief. Sivanka Dhanapala, country representative of the UNHCR, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, General Secretary of ACT Alliance, Amity Foundation Board Chair Mr Qiu, and General Secretary Ling Chunxiang attended the signing meeting. It was the first time for the Amity Foundation signing a MOU with a UN agency for future cooperation.

In the future, Amity is to collaborate with UNHCR to promote the protection of rights and interests of displaced people and other persons of concern and further improve relief and humanitarian assistance work worldwide. Amity started humanitarian relief in 1987. Up to now, apart from working in China, Amity has carried out humanitarian relief work in a number of countries overseas including Nepal, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.
