Education
The Amity Teachers Program, the Summer English Program, schooling for the children of migrant workers, the support of poor college students and the reconstruction of unsafe schools are some elements of this area of Amity’s work.
Social Welfare
Amity supports orphans, sponsors bilingual education of deaf children, provides rehabilitation and education to disabled children …
Basic Health and Public Hygiene
Training of village doctors, construction of rural clinics, HIV/AIDS prevention and education, medical check-ups for women, mobile medical teams are the focus areas of our health and hygiene work. We run projects in Qinghai, Guizhou, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Henan, Ningxia, Gansu, Yunnan, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Chongqing.
Environmental Protection
These projects include the provision of solar stoves, biogas systems and photovoltaic panels to impoverished herdsmen, the development of mechanised farming, the protection and restoration of endangered grasslands and the fight against desertification.
Rural Development
This comprises improvement of river embankments, amelioration of arable land, spreading knowledge about better seeds, improving access to safe drinking water, construction of village roads, agricultural skills training for peasants and microloans. Project sites are in Qinghai, Guizhou, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Shanxi, Sha’anxi, Ningxia, Yunnan, Jiangsu, Hunan.
Church-Run Social Service Projects
Building bridges between the church and society, Amity works with grassroots Christians for the greater good of Christians and non-Christians alike.
Disaster Relief, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation
We provide relief material to the victims of earthquakes and floods, support the reconstruction of their houses and schools, help them rebuild their livelihoods and give impulses for the recovery of community life.
