Hi Ian, I don't think ELCA now has scholarship for young people to teach in China. But you are welcome to inquire with them.

On behalf of seminary students at Yale Divinity School I am inquiring about possible scholarship opportunities for students who might want to teach in China this summer with the Amity Foundation. I have taught in the program myself three times with some financial help from the United Church of Christ/Disciples of Christ Global Ministries. This year Global Ministries has offered to sponsor one seminary student. Does ELCA provide any scholarships for seminarians?

Dear Karin, I hope you will read this email or someone else tells you about it. Ich hope you remember me. We studied together English and French in Salzburg and later on you once visited me in Celle before you went to Hermannsburg. It would be nice to hear more from you, So please if you feel like it: Contact me.
When I read the article I just thought: That can only be Karin Helmreich. I always expected you to be somewhere else than Europe.
Please, contact me.
Best wishes

Hi Karne and Don, I didn't realize the question was also posted here after I replied your email. Normally, as long as you have the official Letter of Invitation from China, which the hosting site will get for you, and show your tentative itinerary in China, you will get enough days on your visa.

I am an audiologist in Canada. I am very interested in the education of the deafs. I tried to search the websites and could not find many useful information. I speak Chinese and English(Mandarin and Cantonese), I learned ASL some years ago but forgot most of them now. I want to know if there are some ways that I can be of help in this field in China.
