Give Amity mooncakes to orphans and old people for this year’s Mid-Autumn Day!

In China, people present mooncakes to family members in the weeks before Mid-Autumn Day. So how about orphans, how about old people whose children live far away?

Give old people and orphans who are supported by the Amity Foundation a very special gift so they can celebrate a happy Mid-Autumn Day: mooncakes from the Amity Bakery!

Your donation of US$ 15 will buy 8 Amity mooncakes in a decorative presentation box. They will be delivered to two church-run old people’s homes (in Xuzhou and in Yancheng, where 230 old people live), the Nanjing Social Welfare Institute (housing 400 old people) and to the 1100 orphans supported by the Amity Foundation in northern Jiangsu Province.

The Amity Bakery in Nanjing is producing top-quality mooncakes, the traditional speciality for Mid-Autumn Day, which this year will be celebrated on 3 October. It is the second-most important holiday and family event in the Chinese world, after Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), and reaches back at least 3000 years.

The Amity young Bakery employs people with Down syndrome, clients from Amity’s Home of Blessings, so they can learn a profession. More information is available here.
