Hospice Project

Since 1996 Amity has cooperated with the Department of Health in Nanjing on a hospice project. Today the hospice offers care for around 30 people with an average age of 80.

Housing project for leprosy victims in Jiangsu Province

Houses in 20 leprosy villages are on the brink of collapsing and leaking. Over 700 elderly people who are both handicapped and alone suffer within this vile living environment. There is an urgent need to repair or rebuild these insecure houses

Mobile medical services for leprosy victims in Jiangsu

There are 55,730 leprosy cases in Jiangsu province, among whom 26,480 are cured persons with an average age of 62. 15,888 of the leprosy cases are diagnosed as above second degree disability. Most of the cured lepers currently live below the poverty line without any reliable sources of income. These people suffer a lot from both physical disabilities and social prejudice.

Training program for parents with autistic children

There are few organizations specialized in autism diagnosis and intervention in China, which prevents most Chinese autistic children from receiving early diagnosis and treatment.

Medical project for orphanages

Many children in state-run social welfare institutions have congenital disabilities. Amity provides medical support by sponsoring medical treatment and surgery for such children.

Providing basic daily necessities and supplying rehabilitation equipment for orphanages

These projects involve providing orphanages with basic daily necessities and supplying rehabilitation equipment, such as toddlers' walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, winter blankets, baby milk powder, incubators, washing machines, and playground equipment, etc.

Micro-credit project in Yongshun County, Hunan Province

Yongshun is a state-listed poverty-stricken country, located in western Hunan Province. Among the total population of 487,000 in Yongshun there are 582 leprosy victims. 230 of these leprosy victims are diagnosed as handicapped with second-degree or above deformities.
