Since 1991, Amity has cooperated with EED (Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst, Germany) in carrying out Small-scale Project Fund (SPF) projects in China through four separate phases. Although these are all small-scale projects, they have made a large impact in terms of improving the living standard of poverty-stricken people in China.
Grassland degradation, increasing land desertification and erosion, everglade shrinking, frequently occurring disasters, soil degradation and preservation of the eco-environment are the problems facing these areas.
The problems in these project areas include poor agricultural production conditions and low crop yields, uncontrolled forest felling and a deterioration of the eco-environment, low education levels, and poor medical and health conditions.
