Hong Kong Office

Theresa Chong Carino, Coordinator, Hong Kong Office

The Amity Foundation Hong Kong Office (HKO) is primarily concerned with publicity and overseas liaison work for Amity. With its international and ecumenically diverse staff from Asia, Europe and North America, it serves as a bridge, helping interpret Amity's work to overseas audiences and sharing their concerns with Amity. The HKO disseminates information about Amity and Christianity in China through the publication of the Amity News Service, the Amity Newsletter and Amity's Annual Report. It also produces the Nanjing Theological Review in traditional Chinese characters for overseas audiences. The HKO organizes "Amity Easter Tours" which allow overseas partners to visit churches and Amity development projects in various parts of China.

HKO staff assist Nanjing colleagues in providing support, care and on-site visits to Amity teachers. This includes provision of teaching materials, in-service training and assistance in preparing teacher conferences. As much as possible, the HKO tries to explore new sources of funding and professional resources for Amity and to initiate contact with potential new partners.
