Qiu Zhonghui elected as Amity Foundation's Chair of the Board

During the fourth meeting of the third board of the Amity Foundation that took place on April 18, 2018,Qiu Zhonghui was elected the Chair of the board of Amity Foundation by unanimous consent. In total, more than 20 people, including Amity's board of directors, board of supervisors and Amity leadership participated and presented the meeting.

In light of China's Charity Law, the board elected Mr. Qiu Zhonghui the Chair in an open, transparent and democratic election. Therefore, Mr Qiu became the second Chair of the board since the establishment of Amity Foundation after the late Bishop Ting, the founder of Amity Foundation.

After the election, Mr Qiu expressed his gratitude for the trust and support of the board members and supervisors. He stated that he sensed the heavy historical responsibilities as the chair of the board and would work together with the board in a concerted effort and strive to create a better future.

During the meeting the Board approved Amity's work plan and financial budget for 2018 and gave advice on Amity's work and future development. Special reports on Amity's latest achievements in social services, as well as religious engagement in social welfare were broadly discussed and appreciated.

Zhao Long, consultant to the board of Amity Foundation, emphasized that the establishment of the Amity Foundation followed China's Reform and Opening Up 40 years ago. He believes that Amity's future development will continue with China's Opening Up.
