In the 7th year of the Walk for Living Water, Amity is organizing the Walk 2017 with the theme “Water and Wastewater”, in order to raise public awareness on the global water crisis, and to raise funds for building solar showers for students of a primary school in Qinghai.
As part of the Amity’s Rural Orphan Fostering Project, the Amity Foundation and the Orphan Education Society in Guangdong signed a cooperation agreement to fund 2,000 orphans in poverty-stricken areas in Guangdong Province over the next three years.
“Although our visit time in each school was very limited, we tried our best to know more about them - their living condition, study in school, hobbies and dreams,” says Mengzhiyuan, after visiting 308 disadvantaged students from underdeveloped areas.
From January 9 to January 14, the annual Winter Conference of Amity’s international exchange and education department took place in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province. Overseas volunteers and long-term teachers gathered to exchange and share their experiences of their service in China.
On December 7, 2016, two rural development and management experts presented evaluation results of Amity's Water Resource and Community Development Projects in Hunan during a workshop for project partners and community representatives.
