Amity Foundation arranged a second visit to Iloilo during 21–24 March to oversee the further phases of relief aid and rehabilitation work. Altogether 50 boats were handed over to fisher families. In parallel, some site visits werde made to inspect the emergency repairs project for school classrooms.
On March 15, more than 600 people gathered in Shatin to take part in Amity’s Walk for Living Water Day 2014. This is in response to the annual UN campaign of World Water Day. Having support from schools and churches the Walk was officiated by Mr. Stephen Lam Sui Lung.
A forum for people using sign language in education was held by Division III of Amity Foundation’s Project Management Center on January2nd, 2014, giving them a place to network and learn from one another. Coming just one day after the New Year’s Day holiday, this seminar was held at the headquarters of the Amity Foundation, Nanjing.
Amity Foundation delivered a second batch of essential relief supplies to the Fifth district of Northern Iloilo and is now shifting towards rehabilitation work for the victims of Super Typhoon Hayian.
On October 17th Amity supplied steel granaries to farmers in order to secure their grain after the Ya'an earthquake. This is part of Amity's reconstruction project in three villages of Ya'an county that aims beside reconstruction at community and capacity building.
