On October 7, at 9:45pm an earthquake hit Jinggu County of the Pu’er Prefecture in the southwest of Yunnan Province. By now, the 6.6 magnitude earthquake has killed one person and has injured at least 324. Amity Foundation’s disaster relief project staff has departed to the affected area for disaster evaluation and need assessment.
In October and November the Amity Foundation will organize three international conferences in cooperation with local and overseas partners: Love, Not Lonely - Fifth International Seminar about Autism (Oct 11-15), International Conference on Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation (Oct 30-Nov 2), International Conference on Aging and Cognitive Disorders (Nov 9-11)
On August the 28, 2014, Amity Foundation Hong Kong became a member of WiseGiving Hong Kong. WiseGiving is an initiative of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). It aims to enhance charity accountability and transparency in Hong Kong.

On August 11th, overseas volunteers of Amity’s Young Adults Program (YAP) arrived in Nanjing to attend Amity’s Summer Training Program. Besides 14 German YAP participants, there was one volunteer from the UK and two teachers from the United States participating in the training.
