Amity Charity Gala held in Hong Kong

On the evening of January 3, the Amity Foundation Hong Kong office, hosted a charity gala dinner and music evening at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. More than 170 guests, volunteers, dignitaries, long-time Amity supporters and Amity staff attended the festivities. With the help of many volunteers nearly HK$ 350,000 was raised to support the Amity Foundation’s work for people in need.

There was a full musical programme to entertain guests. Notably, the young volunteers opened with the song “Somewhere over the rainbow,” embodying the hope of marginalized children for a better life. The piano recital by Ms. Wonnie Wong were applauded by the audience. This was followed by performances of the rock bands “The Brafe” and the “K-Faktor”. The golden oldies they played really captured the mood of the evening, which had nostalgia as a theme. During the dinner volunteers were performing music, selling raffle tickets, organizing a lucky draw and a silent auction.
